Ratings: Use whole numbers in all sections.  Compare to entire age group, not just your division if possible.

Scale: 1=Highest rating, 9=lowest rating

Evaluation Key:

Individual Skills

Dribbling: In control.  Keeps ball close.  Changes speed and direction.  Uses both feet, inside and outside.  Composure under pressure.  Shields the ball.

Passing/Receiving: Accuracy.  Uses both feet, inside and outside.  First touch away from pressure.  Cushions ball.

Shooting: Uses laces.  Uses both feet.  Shoots on first touch when appropriate.  Accuracy.

Defending: Stays between ball and goal. Tackling – ability to win ball.  Recovers when beaten.

Team/Tactical Skills

Offense: Keeps spacing.  Movement without the ball to create good passing angles.  Combination plays with teammates.  Passes backwards.

Defense: Delay if outnumbered.  Pressures with numbers.  Gets back to support.  Protects danger zone with quick clears.

Fields Sense: Understands responsibilities of positions.  Movement relative to ball, attackers and defenders.  Covers for teammates as appropriate.

General:

Intangibles: players often have other attributes that effect their play and their teammates play.  For example, qualities such as leadership, unselfishness, personality. Use this category to rate players on these types of intangibles.

 

 

 

 

Keeper: Score only if played.  Do Not include in average whether scored or not.

Average Score: average all scores except Keeper.  Do not round final score.
