Revs Training Schedule

Age Group Practices (held in addition to team practices) Start the week of September 8

Age Group Practices are provided as part of season registration fees.  All players and at least one coach from each team are encouraged to attend.  The practices, led by NE Revolution Academy personnel, simulate a structured team practice appropriate for the age group.  They follow a proven curriculum and coaches can replicate the session, in whole or part, during their team practices.  Participants can expect a practice that changes weekly and includes a dynamic warm up, ball work, technical drills and small sided games.  The intent is to provide a professional quality “training” session to all HYS players and coaches.

Skills Training is an optional player development practice focused entirely on developing foot skills.  Foot skills are the foundation of player development.  Players will improve their first touch, ball control, dribbling and a variety of 1v1 moves.  These practices are also led by NE Revolution Academy personnel.  The training is intended for players that want to take their game to the next level and/or play on HYS Academy teams.  There is no expectation for coaches to attend.  Players can register at the HYS store on We will be offering 6 weeks of Skills Training Academy Sessions ($60 for the 6 weeks) beginning the week  of April 7.

Hopkinton Youth Soccer partners with the New England Revolution to offer the Revs Academy, a fee-based, skill-based academy program. This program is a great opportunity to participate in a “player centered” academy aimed at helping players develop stronger soccer skills and a greater understanding of the game. Players are selected for the Academy Teams via a tryout held in the Spring for the following Fall/Spring season.  For the 2014-2015 season HYS will have teams at the U 10 (U 9 and U 10 players), U 12 (U 11 and U 12 players) and U 14 (U 13 and U 14 players) levels for both boys and girls.  Tryouts will be held the first week in June.
